Message from the Chief

Welcome to 2016

On behalf of the 30 men and women of the Palos Park Police Department it is my pleasure to welcome you to our web site. The number one priority of the Palos Park Police is to foster and promote the safety and stability of our community.

We are committed to utilizing the latest technology, coupled with a philosophy of community policing, in an effort to provide the most efficient, effective and professional delivery of police services.

The Palos Park Police Department focuses on improvements in the quality of life that affect our residents, businesses, and visitors. Our department members work tirelessly in an effort to reduce crime in our community and are encouraged to cultivate a partnership with the community we serve.
Chief Miller
This relationship occurs when both we, the department and you, the people, understand each other’s needs and concerns. This understanding will result in the prevention of criminal activity, the solving of crimes, and the overall improvement of the quality of life in our community.

Here in Palos Park you may see officers walking the beat, patrolling on bicycles and patrolling in marked police cars. Other officers you may not see work in plain clothes or an undercover capacity. From time to time, we also have officers on loan to state and federal agencies under a multi- jurisdictional combined resources task forces program.

We make every attempt to make sure members of the Palos Park Police Department are properly equipped, trained, and fully committed to ensuring that Palos Park is a great place to live, work and visit.

We encourage you to browse our web site for further information. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 708-671-3770.

Chief Joe Miller
Police Commissioner Dan Polk
