The Palos Park Beautification Committee was established to beautify the appearance of public ways, waysides and Village places through the planting of flowers, shrubs, trees, etc. The committees main focus of improvement is 123rd street and the Village welcome signs. The committee meets as needed and is always looking for eager volunteers. If you are interested in making new friends and beautifying Palos Park, please contact the Village Hall at 708-671-3700.
21st Annual Rid Litter Day is Saturday, April 21st - WE COULD USE YOUR HELP!
The first Palos Park Rid Litter Day, organized by The Beautification Committee was in 1997. An estimated two tons of litter has been picked up over that time period in our village thanks to Rid Litter Day volunteers. Thank you to all who have participated in the past. You made a positive difference in our community!
We will meet at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Village Recreation Center, at which time gloves and bags will be distributed. Service hour forms can be signed at that time.
‘Rid Litter’ - Each spring, with the help of community volunteers, collects 50-70 bags of litter along our main roads.
Mailbox Replacement Program - Convenient program that removes your old mailbox and installs a new one. Many styles to pick from. All proceeds are reinvested in the village beautification projects. Ordering information is available here.
Memorial Benches - Honor someone special with a beautiful memorial bench. Beautiful, sturdy benches placed in prominent locations within the village, marked with a plaque.
Village Welcome Signs - Members of the Beautification Committee plant, weed and maintain the village welcome signs. If you would like to adopt one, contact them at 708-671-3709.
Hanging of the Green - Committee members adorn their village welcome sign with greenery for the holiday season.
