Founded in 1984, the Palos Fine Arts Association is organized to integrate the arts into community life by providing culturally-based programs and supporting artistic goals and achievements. Offerings include art exhibitions, concerts, dance and other artistic endeavors. Also sponsored is the article “Arts and About” appearing monthly in The Regional newspaper. Each spring, scholarships are awarded to students pursuing higher education in art-related fields. Teaming with Moraine Valley Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center and the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery has enabled the Association to expand its vistas and audiences. Support for its programming comes from pledges and memberships by individuals, families and businesses from the Palos, Orland and surrounding areas. Benefits to members include invitations to events and receptions, discounts on tickets and a newsletter. Membership Drive is now in Progress.
