November 10, 2025: The Village Council approved Resolution 2025-R-10; which approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) regarding the Transportation Safety Plan. 

June 11: 2025: The Village of Palos Park was among those chosen for technical assistance from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). The Village will be working with CMAP regarding a Transportation Safety Plan for the area centered on Southwest Highway and its intersections with Timber Lane and 121st Street. March 27, 2025: The Village submitted an application for the transportation safety plan.

In 2018 the Village of Palos Park approved the Village's Bicycle and Trail Plan. This plan identifies the area centered on Southwest Highway, 121st Street, and Timber Lane as a priority project.
