The Village of Palos Park Police Department is excited to host our first Citizen’s Police Academy.
The Citizen Police Academy program is a great forum for our officers to engage with members of the community and provide education about law enforcement operations.
The Palos Park Citizen’s Police Academy will begin on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, at the Kaptur Administrative Center, 8999 West 123rd Street, Palos Park, IL 60464.
Classes will be held every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. The final class and Graduation Ceremony will be on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.
Applications can be found on the Palos Park Police Department website or can be picked up in person at the Kaptur Administrative Center.
Completed applications must be returned by Monday, November 3rd, 2025, and can be returned to the attention of Commander Chris Hughes by returning them in person or via e-mail; chughes@palospark.org
The course will be limited to 15 participants, and you must be a Resident of the Village of Palos Park. If you are selected as a participant, you will be notified by e-mail the week of December 1st, 2025. If you are not selected as a participant in the first course, you will be added to a wait list in the event that an initial participant cannot attend.
