Secure Dropboxes for Cook County Mail Ballots

The Cook County Clerk’s Office will have over 50 drop boxes around Cook County to ensure mail ballots can be securely delivered directly to the Clerk’s Office without using the United States Postal Service.

Secure dropboxes will be located at over 50 early voting sites throughout Cook County where voters can drop off their completed mail ballots. Mail ballots will be collected on a daily basis and will be time stamped. Voters who applied for their mail ballot online will receive an email at the time their mail ballot is sent to them, as well as an email notifying them when the completed ballot has been received back from the voter.

Dropboxes for mail ballots will be available beginning October 9, 2020 at 69 W. Washington Street, as well as the 5 Regional Courthouses in suburban Cook County located in Rolling Meadows, Skokie, Maywood, Bridgeview and Markham. Dropboxes will be available at the remaining early voting sites beginning October 19, 2020. At this time, dropbox locations closest to Palos Park include Lemont Township Hall, Orland Township Hall, Palos Heights Recreation Center, and Tinley Park Village Hall. Hours are 8:30 am—7:00 pm Monday through Friday and 9:00 am—5:00 pm on weekends (depending on location).

The Next Chipper Service is the week of August 31, 2020

On Monday, August 31 the Chipper will start on the WEST side of the Village. Please have chipping materials placed on the ROW by 7:00 am on Monday. The Chipper will work servicing ALL public streets until it reaches the east side of the Village.

All of the branch chipping regulations are available online at the Village of Park. Go to the Department of Public Works, Tree Branch Pickup, Branch Chipping Regulations.

Please call 708-671-3721 with any questions regarding Chipper Service.

2020 Fall Tree Planting Program

Each year residents are given the opportunity to have one tree added to the landscaping in the Village right of way adjacent to their property. There is no cost to the resident for the tree or the planting; however, residents are asked to water the tree until the tree is established (typically during the fall and again the next spring).

If you are interested in having one tree planted in the right of way:

1. Check the updated 2020 Tree Availability List and choose a tree you would like planted.

2. Call the Village Hall at (708) 671-3700 and request to be put on the Fall Tree Planting List. You will need to give your Name, Address, Phone Number, and the name of the tree you have selected. If you do not select a tree you may not receive a tree.

The deadline for tree requests is 5:00 pm on August 31, 2020. There is a limited number of trees available through the program. Trees may be limited due to tree availability at the time of planting. Please note that trees cannot be planted in the right of ways along State, County or Private Streets. The Village Arborist will visit each site in September to check if the species of tree selected has enough room and can thrive in the location selected. The Village Arborist will make the final decision if a requested tree can or cannot be planted. Trees will be planted by itrees.com during late Fall.
