Palos Park Website Redesign Project
Click on images to view webpage drafts. What you are viewing is a jpg file, not a working webpage. Each design features flexibility needed for each department's requirements. I have set these images to 1000 pixels wide. You may have to scroll to view it all. The working website would require little, if any scrolling side to side.
SIMPLY GREEN
This redesign idea is a more
modern, clean design. These rough draft designs shows menu rollover concepts in
static form. This design has a scalable width and length depending on computer monitor
size and page content. The idea behind the navigation here is to have 5 or 6
mini websites which would feature different left hand menus. When I am on a page
featured under the VISITOR top menu, a left hand menu would reiterate pages for
a visitor.
SEASONS
The idea for this site design is to
change a few elements on the site to reflect the time of year (background color
and photos). I propose no more than 6 change outs for the year. I envision each
department and web section to have a different photo in the upper right hand
corner. This would mean all of the pages for the building department would look
the same but slightly different from Public Works, etc. This concept would
require more work obtaining appropriate photos!! I envision this design to scale
as the 'Simply Green' design. There may be a possibility this design would not
be as flexible width-wise.
Home page features one of Jim Pavlatos's photos that I happen to have on my hard drive. Credit would be given as needed. Details for permissions need to be addressed with him by the village.
I did not include menu roll-over effects. I thought it redundant to recreate. We will develop graceful menu effects to reflect our theme. We can play with the background color hues if we decide on this design.
OAK TREE
I only
created a home page look. I think the subsequent pages should lose the tree. If
I can find seasonal trees and branches I can incorporate throughout the year.
These three concepts are original ideas developed by Betty.
