Palos Park Building Department

Welcome
The Palos Park Building Department is ready to help you through the entire building process or simply answer a question about our code. The department handles the following functions:

Inspections
Plan reviews
Building Permits
Zoning Reviews
Contractors licensing
Grading and Drainage Permits
Bonds
Code enforcement

The full time staff along with part-time inspectors and outside consultants handles the day-to-day requirements of the Department. The full time staff is as follows:

On-line are various downloadable forms for your use and a list of codes that we follow. Also the entire village municipal ordinance is available on-line.

Effective January 1, 2007 the Village has adopted the following codes:

International Building Code 2006 Edition
International Residential Code 2006 Edition with amendments
International Energy Conservation Code 2006 Edition

Important Notice: Before commencing any building activity, be sure to contact the Building Department at (708) 671-3730. Many projects do not require permits and we can advise you accordingly. It is important that you use only contractors and tradesmen licensed in the Village. This will ensure that they possess the proper insurance and bond. We are dedicated to serving our residents and we can only do so if we are aware of building and zoning matters as they occur.
