Finance Department Assistant

The Village of Palos Park’s Finance Department is seeking to add a Part-Time Finance Assistant. The position’s primary responsibility will be processing Payroll every two weeks and performing various accounting and finance related job functions. Experience in payroll with a strong background in accounting and municipal experience is strongly preferred. Proficiency in the use of computers is required, with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and good at multi-tasking. Typical hours are four weekday days up to 16 hours per week; the hours could vary depending on the candidate. Recreation Center: Kindergarten Kids Zone Program Coordinator – Part Time

Village of Palos Park, a progressive and employee-friendly organization is seeking an energetic coordinator with a bachelor degree in Education; Recreation or Associates Degree in Early Childhood. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Recreation and Parks, this position will have the responsibility to provide a favorable learning atmosphere for Kindergarten aged children. The Coordinator position will plan, conduct and evaluate curriculum and teaching methods on a continuing basis. Under the general supervision of the Kid Zone Program Coordinator, it is the Extended School Kid Zone Aid responsibility to provide a favorable learning and recreational atmosphere for school aged children in grades K-5. The Aid will lead and assist the Coordinator in playing and interacting with children. This is a new, before school experience for students in Palos Park School District 118.

Education and Experience: High School Graduate or a senior in High school. Ability to speak, read, and write the English language. Customer service skills. CPR and AED certified (will train). Must have a valid State of Illinois Driver’s License.

Hours:  8-17.5 hours per week, school year Fee Range:         $9 per hour

The Recreation and Parks Department is searching for an outdoor enthusiast, who can provide public services to the residents of Palos Park by performing unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled tasks. This individual performs outdoor tasks within the parks to include mowing, grass trimming, landscaping, sport fields, court care, and playground care. Assists other individuals and other departments within the Village in activities as assigned. Must be able to work independently.
