The State of Illinois has declared the first weekend in June as FREE fishing for all. Grab your poles and the kids and take advantage of all the lakes in the Palos Park area. Recreation staff will be on site at Papoose Lake with fishing information, poles to borrow that day and ready to talk about your fishing tales. “The One That Got Away”.

Emerson Hill Night: JAZZ IN THE PINES:
An Outdoor Concert by The Darlene Baresch Quartet
Sunday, June 2, 5:30 p.m.

We are thrilled to offer our twenty-first annual outdoor spring jazz concert -- to be held on the beautiful stage in the
pine woods on the north end of the farm. The Darlene Baresch Quartet will return to our Stage in the Pines to again provide an outstanding evening of jazz standards. The evenings musicians include Spencer Keys on keyboard, Tyke Hendershot on bass, Scott Gumina on saxophone and clarinet, Dean Minuth on percussion, and singer Darlene Baresch. Just park at the farm and the hayrack will take you out to the concert. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. We are providing punch and cookies and you may choose to bring your own picnic supper (no alcohol please). There is no admission fee to the concert, as the event is The Center's gift to those who wish to attend. Please join us for "JAZZ IN THE PINES!" Kids welcome!

Flag Day Celebration

Presented by Knights of Columbus Crusaders No. 10151 This patriotic evening will offer the musical talents of the Southwest Community Concert Band focusing on America through the eyes of movies and Broadway. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic basket and join neighbors and friends on the Village Green.

FREE Concert in The Park
Thursday, June 20, 5:30 to 9pm

Supported by Palos Fine Arts. Join us on the Village Green for that summer evening picnic atmosphere. Enjoy local food vendors, beer, wine and spirits. The dance floor will be opened as you listen to the musical talents of the Outcast Jazz Band beginning at 7:00 pm.

National Hot Dog Day

The Hot Dog has been around since the 1800’s and is synonymous with baseball, summer and picnics. On Tuesday, July 23 we will be celebrating National Hot Dog Day! Jump on the wagon and bring the entire family down to the Village Green and enjoy a hot off the grill hot dog with all the fixings for only .50. You will enjoy a picnic atmosphere and musical entertainment. Complete meals of hot dog, chips and a drink will also be available. We hope you join us!!!!! BIKE HIKE
Saturday, August 24, 9:00 am - Noon

Starting at the Palos Park Metra Station Grab your bike, the family and friends for a leisurely ride on dedicated paths. We will begin and end at the Palos Park Metra Station. When you return a grilled lunch with refreshments will be provided. Representatives will be available to discuss the new Cal-Sag Trail. Fee: $5 per person, $12.50 for three or more household members. Register through Palos Park Recreation Department
