The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) opens in
September…
PLOWS Council on Aging is
taking appointments to assist senior citizens with applications to the
2010 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
This program is available to assist persons with winter heating
costs. The Community Economic Development Association (CEDA) has local
responsibility for the program. Applications are forwarded to CEDA for
approval and processing on payment.
To qualify for LIHEAP, your
household must meet financial eligibility guidelines set by federal
regulations. Eligibility is based on a
household’s income for 30 days preceding the date of application.
30 Day Income
(Monthly Income)
$1,354 for 1 person
$1,821 for 2 people
$2,289 for 3 people
Federal guidelines require
that specific documentation must be provided with each application. If
you believe you may be eligible to apply for this important benefit,
please call the PLOWS office for more information or to learn what
papers you will need to bring with you.
Individuals will be seen by appointment only, no walkins.
