Palos Park Farmer's Market

Welcome to The Village Of Palos Park
Thank you for visiting the Village of Palos Park website, where you can find a great deal of information on the Palos Park community and the services that the Village provides.

The Village of Palos Park is a charming, bedroom community nestled in the midst of dense wooded land.  Palos Park is wonderful place to live and raise a family in a natural environment.  We love this town for its profound natural features, where hills, creeks, and ravines abound.  Large, aged oak trees line our streets and properties.  Our one-acre zoning in residential areas has been vital in maintaining these natural assets, and the community members actively work to maintain our “pastoral setting, rural splendor.”

Don’t forget our local businesses, which help make our community thrive.  We have several places to shop for almost anything you need.  Take a look at our on-line listing of businesses in Palos Park.

The Palos Park elected officials and staff are dedicated to maintaining our high quality of life, and are always eager provide better service to our residents.  If you have any questions about the Village, please contact the Kaptur Administrative Center, 8999 W. 123rd Street, at 708-448-2700 or e-mail to info@palospark.org.

RADON AWARENESS PROGRAM:
Cook County and the State of Illinois are conducting a Radon Awareness Program by distributing free radon detector kits. Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that is found naturally in soil. It can come into homes through cracks and openings in the foundation. Radon decays quickly, giving off small radioactive particles that when inhaled can damage the cells in your lungs. The only way to know if you have radon in your home is by testing. The free test kit can be obtained from Cook County Environmental Control by calling 708-865-6177.

Comprehensive Plan Information
The Village is currently beginning a review of its Comprehensive Plan document, which was last modified updated in 1999. The Comprehensive lan is a legal document which serves as a guide for land planning and land use decisions for property within and in close proximity to the Village. Input from residents should be and has been an essential part of the process in developing the Village's Comprehensive Plan. The updated Comprehensive Plan will incorporate the Commercial Areas Master Plan adopted by the Village Council in April, 2007.
