Palos Park Police Department Commissioner
Dan Polk is pleased to announce yet another public / corporate
community relations partnership program, Chaffee Limousine. They
donated three mini-cameras to be worn by Palos Park Police patrol
officers. Commissioner Polk
said “This donation will support the Palos Park Police Department by
providing three mini cams cameras for police officers to wear while
on duty patrolling. These cameras record all police/perpetrator
interaction including, but not limited to, sobriety tests. Footage
from the cameras may be used in a court of law to aid in
convictions.”
Officers are now wearing small
cameras, about chest-height and can activate them with a simple
flick of a switch. Chief Joe Miller said officers like the new tool
and the video can help officers do their job as well as benefit the
public when there's a question about behavior. We hope each officer
gets a camera by the end of this year."
Danny Chaffee said he “hopes this
contribution will raise awareness for public safety and encouraged
other charitable outreach programs to donate to their local law
enforcement agencies."
