Compact Florescent Light Bulbs (CFL)
Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) use a different, more advanced
technology than incandescent light bulbs and come in a range of styles and
sizes based on brand and purpose. CFLs have been manufactured for over 20
years, and have come a long way! They provide warm, inviting and lasting
light without the flicker and hum of their infamous predecessors.
If every American replaced just 5 regular bulbs with the
CFL in their home, the effect on the environment would be like taking 8
million automobiles off the road a year.

CFL bulbs contain mercury
so it is important to recycle them. The village's annual Hazardous Waste
Collection site will accept Florescent bulbs.
