Village Manager’s OFFICE / Administration Department
Village Manager Richard B. Boehm, ICMA-CM is the professional chief administrator for all Village operations and is appointed by the Village Council. He is responsible for executing the policies established by the Village of Palos Park Village Council.
The Village of Palos Park combines the strong political and policy leadership of elected officials in the form of a governing body, with the strong managerial experience of an appointed local government manager. The Village Manager is hired to serve the Council and the community and bring the benefits of training and experience to administering local government projects and programs on behalf of the governing body.
Mr. Boehm was hired by the Village in May, 2010 and has over twenty-five years of municipal management experience including positions as Village Manager with the Village of Orland Park and Village of Oak Brook.
The Village Manager's office is located in the Administration Department at the Kaptur Administrative Center. Administration is responsible for administering the programs and policies established by the Village Council, research and policy recommendations, public communication, human resources/employee relations, administration of special projects, the refuse and recycling program, vehicle stickers, maintenance of Village-owned properties, various RFP and contract negotiation, meeting agendas and packet preparation, to name only a few. The Administration Department also provides a variety of services to residents including notary public, general information, directions and assistance with resident concerns.
