Tree Body

The Palos Park Tree Body was established in 1993 to promote the preservation and reforestation of the Village and to encourage public awareness and participation in the Forestry Management Plan. The members work with the Director of the Department of Public Works making recommendations regarding the planting, care and removal of trees. Maintaining Tree City USA status is another Tree Body Function. Recognizing the need for increased funding and the difficulty of obtaining state and federal grants, the Tree Body with the help of the Village Council, started the establishment of the Palos Park Tree Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation. By the end of 1998 we should be ready to start soliciting funds from individuals and corporations. Community support is a major factor in preserving the beauty of the Village and any aspect of fundraising. All residents are invited to join the Tree Body. Our usual meeting night is the first Tuesday of the month at the Village Hall at 8 p.m. Dates and time may vary, so call the Administration Office for information 708-448-2700.
