The proposed "Building Up Illinois Developments" (BUILD) plan legislation currently under consideration in the Illinois General Assembly would significantly limit local control over zoning and land use decisions. If enacted, they would override the Village of Palos Park current zoning regulations, including our long standing one-acre minimum lot size requirement, and could allow for multi-family developments in areas where they are not currently permitted.
Zoning decisions are local matters and a one-size-fits-all approach does not account for unique character, infrastructure, and planning goals of individual municipalities like Palos Park.
If you agree we strongly encourage you to contact your representatives and voice your concerns with the BUILD plan before it's too late. The letter below is a template that can be used to contact the following representatives.
